Scholarship Luncheons Bring Donors and Students Together
On November 2 and December 8 the Foundation hosted a luncheon offering an opportunity for students to meet their scholarship donors. Between 140 and 150 students and donors attended each luncheon. Kim Nelson, Foundation Director, addressed the audience thanking the donors for supporting students. Through their generosity, many students are able to pursue higher education with less of a financial burden. Several students spoke, all relaying a message of deep gratitude for those that choose to give towards scholarships and endowments.
The Foundation Welcomes Two New Staff Members
Two new staff members have joined the Alumni Foundation team. Denise Laymon, Senior Development Officer, comes with several years of experience in donor development and foundation work. She and her husband live near Vergas, MN on their hobby farm.
Amy Frauenberg, 2007 Alum joins the team as Associate Director of Gift Planning. Amy was involved on Campus as a Wildcat Singer, participated in student leadership groups, drama, and was the Homecoming Queen. She is excited to be back at NDSCS. She is from LaMoure, ND.
Vaderstad Director of Sales Elected to Farm Manufacturers Association Board
Paul Link, U.S. Director of Sales for Väderstad, Inc., has been elected as board member for the Farm Equipment Manufacturers Association (FEMA). Link’s position is based in Wahpeton, North Dakota, which serves as Väderstad’s U.S. headquarters.

Homecoming '22 a success!
Homecoming festivities were held September 30 and October 1, where both the Foundation and NDSCS Athletics honored several award winners. Friday began with a Catbacker Luncheon, pep rally, and Alumni & Friends banquet. About 150 were in attendance Friday evening. The honorees were: Roger Hentges, Alumnus of the Year, C & S Farms, Friend of the College, Vivian Bernotas, Parade Grand Marshal, Barney Hilgers Family, Family Tradition, and Curt Gollnick, Wildcat of the Year. Kim Nelson, Executive Director, led the program while each honoree spoke.

The Alumni/Foundation will present the awards on Friday, September 30 during the Alumni and Friends Awards Social, which begins at 5:30 p.m. in The Alley at the Hektner Student Center on the NDSCS campus in Wahpeton. The public is invited to attend and celebrate the honorees.

Senior Development Officer
As part of the external fundraising team, the Senior Development Officer will be responsible for developing, cultivating, and maintaining strong relationships, primarily but not exclusively, with professional advisors as well as individual donors, to engage individuals and corporations in charitable giving, and to build the alumni foundation’s assets by establishing new funds.
