While scrolling through Facebook, Hunter Lee, a Breckenridge MN native and 2020 NDSCS HVAC/R graduate, stumbled upon the ServiceTitan HVAC competition. Curious, he filled out an online quiz and was selected to move onto round two. While he was intrigued, he was skeptical that it may be a scam. About a month later, a package arrived in the mail with instructions for phase two — a torching and braising assignment.
On November 2 and December 8 the Foundation hosted a luncheon offering an opportunity for students to meet their scholarship donors. Between 140 and 150 students and donors attended each luncheon. Kim Nelson, Foundation Director, addressed the audience thanking the donors for supporting students. Through their generosity, many students are able to pursue higher education with less of a financial burden. Several students spoke, all relaying a message of deep gratitude for those that choose to give towards scholarships and endowments.
Two new staff members have joined the Alumni Foundation team. Denise Laymon, Senior Development Officer, comes with several years of experience in donor development and foundation work. She and her husband live near Vergas, MN on their hobby farm.
