Kim has been a part of the NDSCS Alumni/Foundation since 2002. She started as an Alumni Coordinator, moved to the Donor Development Manager position followed by the Major Gifts Officer and is now currently the Foundation's Executive Director.
Prior to joining NDSCS, Kim served as a Regional Manager for Midwest Vision Center for 10 years--traveling across North Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa managing 43 optical stores. Before that, she founded and served as the Director of the St. John’s Childcare Center in Wahpeton as well as the NDSCS Childcare Center on campus.
Kim’s passion for NDSCS has deepened tremendously over the years. Although she took an 18 month break working for Lutheran Social Services of North Dakota, she found her “true” passion to be NDSCS--the students, alumni and friends--bringing her back to campus in March of 2014.
Kim is a Wyndmere, N.D. native, a 1981 graduate from the University of Minnesota Crookston with a degree in family services and a 1987 graduate from Minnesota State University Moorhead with an elementary education degree. She is married to Brian and together they have five grown children, six granddaughters and two grandsons. They live in Fergus Falls, Minn., where they own a trucking business.
